We also automatically collect certain information when you use the Platform, including IP address, browser type, device information, pages viewed, and approximate geolocation (city-level) to provide location-relevant pricing.

• Generate Fair Market Rate estimates for your project
• Match you with a verified contractor in your area
• Communicate with you about your project and account
• Improve and personalize the Platform experience
• Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
• Comply with legal obligations

3. Information Sharing

We share your project details and contact information only with the contractor we match you with. We do not sell your personal information to third-party lead brokers, advertisers, or data resellers.

We may share information with: (a) service providers who help us operate the Platform (e.g., hosting, payment processing, email delivery); (b) law enforcement when required by law; and (c) in connection with a business transfer such as a merger or acquisition.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information, including SSL encryption, secure database storage, and access controls. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Cookies and Tracking

We use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, analyze Platform usage, and improve our services. You can control cookies through your browser settings, but disabling them may affect Platform functionality.

6. Your Rights

7. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. If you request account deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed to individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we learn that we have collected data from a child, we will delete it promptly.

9. SMS/Text Messaging Terms

By opting in to SMS notifications on the Platform, you consent to receive recurring automated text messages from ClearCost at the phone number you provide. Messages may include project estimate updates, contractor match notifications, appointment reminders, and other project-related communications.

• Message frequency: Message frequency varies based on your project activity. You may receive up to 10 messages per month.
• Message and data rates: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.
• Opt-out: You can opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. After opting out, you will receive a one-time confirmation message. You will no longer receive SMS messages from ClearCost unless you opt in again.
• Help: Reply HELP to any message for support, or contact us at support@getclearcost.com.
• Supported carriers: Major US carriers are supported. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
• No mobile information sharing: We do not sell, rent, loan, trade, lease, or otherwise transfer for profit any phone numbers or personal information collected through our SMS program to any third party.

Consent to receive SMS messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services. You may choose to receive project communications via email only.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance.
